Hello Franklin Flyer Families, Students and Community!
It has been an absolute privilege to have started as the 2020-21 school year as your Assistant Principal then Interim of Benjamin Franklin Elementary, and now be your Principal for the 21-22 school year. I continue to look forward to saying that every day this school year. I am eager to meet and work with each of you and I am looking forward to an amazing year of growth and achievement at Benjamin Franklin Elementary.
Each fall we have an opportunity to start off the new academic year with fresh hopes and the chance to reach new heights as we set goals and strive to reach our full potential. Each student comes in with their own expectations for success and our goal is to help them meet and surpass those expectations. There will always be challenges ahead of us, but it is important to recognize that those challenges are there to give us a chance to build character, to learn and to grow. I hope that each of us will be able to help one another be successful in achieving our goals and dreams while here at Benjamin Franklin Elementary.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I have been an educator for 14 years, teaching each grade level K-6, a lead in the creation of a Reading/Math Intervention program, the RUSD K-12 AVID District Liaison for 5 years and the 2019 RUSD K-8 Math Summer Program Coordinator. I have a wonderful and supportive family. I have been happily married for 10 years, almost 11, and have both a son and a daughter in grades 1st and 3rd.
I believe that with a positive attitude, a growth mindset, and good character anyone can achieve great things. I strive to instill those qualities in our young scholars, and to be a positive role model as well. We are all here to learn together. It is my goal to provide a safe and nurturing educational environment that challenges our students to reach beyond their expectations to become lifelong learners who will make the world a better place.
I am excited about the possibilities that this school year will bring, and yes with the current state of the pandemic we will all be challenged on truly getting to come together as a community, but I know we all will approach this school year with understanding, care and empathy for one another- the foundation to true success!
